The mother of modern liberty. Individual rights, rule of law, free speech, limited government, consent of the governed. Turned “subjects” into “citizens.” Freedom from dogma, superstition, and unearned authority. “Question everything” is the ultimate intellectual jailbreak.

In this view, whataboutism is the verbal embodiment of that "false existence." Instead of confronting truth or beauty or personal authenticity, the whataboutist hides behind someone else's sins. It's not clever; it's boring and anti-aesthetic.
