The repair was ugly. Bent metal, mismatched screws, a temporary fix held together by pure stubbornness. Anyone walking by would have shaken their head. Then someone mentioned the alternative and the whole thing suddenly looked elegant. Duct tape would have been faster, cheaper, and destined to peel off in a week. This version might last. It wasn’t pretty, but it was honest. Still better than duct tape. Sometimes the only upgrade you need is refusing the easier, weaker option.
